National education plan reviewed
VietNamNet Bridge - Leaders from 63 education and training departments and a number of international organisations gathered in Hanoi on January 5 to review the five-year implementation of national education action plan.
The participants analysed reasons of success and challenges of the plan and discussed necessary solutions that will provide educational opportunities for all people by 2015.

BAGHDAD – Hospital and police officials say 24 children were among the 155 killed in twin suicide blasts that targeted government buildings in Baghdad.

HCM CITY — Vocational training programmes will be included in the curricula at both universities and colleges by 2010, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) has said.
The decision to include vocational training at the university, not just the college level, was made because of the need for more practical, problem-solving education, the deputy minister of MoLISA, Tran Huu Dac, said.
Many students were choosing to attend university rather than college because of the prestige of a university-level degree, he said.
